The Polk County Health Department
provides vaccines under the Vaccine for Children program. Vaccines for
children including flu vaccine are provided at no charge. Wisconsin Law
requires all children attending public and private schools to show proof
of vaccinations for certain diseases.

Influenza Vaccine
Seasonal vaccine is provided at clinics held at the Health Department
and at various community sites. Influenza vaccine for children is free.
There is a charge for adult influenza vaccine which is determined each
year. The Health Department is able to bill Medicare, BadgerCare/Medicaid
and some private health insurances for influenza vaccine.

Other Adult Vaccines
Tetanus boosters and some other vaccines for adults are provided at no
charge. Contact the Health Department at 715.485.8500 regarding the
availability of free vaccine for adults. The cost for adult Hepatitis B
vaccine is $35 per dose and the cost of pneumococcal vaccine is $45 per
dose.
