Raising Healthy Families

The Raising Health Families program provides education, support and resources to expectant and new parents designed to help them be the best parents they possibly can be. Services are provided via home visits, WIC clinic visits or in other group settings. These services are provided at no cost to families.

Services Provided:

• Infant feeding/breastfeeding education and support including monitoring your infant's weight gain

• Infant massage instruction

• Education on growth and development including early brain development plus guidance on means to promote growth and development

• Parenting education

• Discipline tips

• Safety evaluation and education

New Programs for 2010

• Infant Safe Sleep Program - Keeping Your Baby Safe While Sleeping

  • Individualized education on components of infant safe sleep

  • Group presentations on safe sleep at prenatal and parenting classes

  • Financial assistance in obtaining a compact crib

• Ages and Stages Screening - Is My Child Doing What He Should at His Age?

  • Individualized education on age-appropriate growth and development and tips to enhance your child's growth and development

  • Developmental screening for children age 4 months to 5 years using the Ages and Stages program

  • Referral for evaluation of delays detected at screenings
