Links to resources can mean a variety of things; they can be partners, organizations, tools or information. For the PCHD, resources are broken down into the following categories:
Local Partners: Local partners are considered to be Polk County medical providers, community organizations, coalitions and/or consortiums, and our local schools.
State Partners: State partners are considered 'umbrella' agencies that the Polk County Health Department works with on a routine basis.
Federal Partners: Federal Partners are considered to be colleagues in overall public health work, emergency response, and support regarding technical assistance for a variety of reasons.
Information Resources: These are local, regional, state or federal partners or informational links that can be selected to learn more about public health in general, or for more specific topics.
Portal: Report to the FDA adverse events due to tobacco products and e-cigarettes.
"What is an Adverse Event?" An adverse event is an undesirable side effect or unexpected health or product quality problem that an individual believes was caused by the use of a tobacco product.
Anyone can report an adverse event to the FDA. In fact, these reports help us identify safety concerns with tobacco products that could cause health or safety problems beyond those normally associated with tobacco product use.
Report through the portal link above, or by calling a toll-free number, 1-800-FDA-1088.
